TRADITION

KNOWLEDGE CULTIVATION

COMMUNITY

Through my research and life experiences I came to the conclusion that we always need to return home. Our ancestors were women and men of immeasurable knowledge who believed that a strong connection to Mother Earth and a commitment to education were the most effective tools a child needed to flourish. In the Tolteca Pedagogy the arts and sciences represented the universal equilibrium. The essence is based on the education practice where values are worked on daily through physical, mental, and artistic activities to develop habits.

“It’s not knowledge that transforms the individual, but his/her values apply with wisdom in daily life” ~ Sabiduria Tolteca

Our purpose is to educate for life, not for a profession. Through the practice of values and principles we can acquire the knowledge to become self-sufficient. The Toltecas considered children little adults and citizens with all the same rights, and would refer to them as “Priceless Jewels” and “Beautiful Feathers.” As soon as they were born, they were immediately integrated as valuable members in the family and social life. The education in its most general terms was immersed in the social fabric.

Education is an essential part of humanizing each individual.
